Dual Language Program

What is the Dual Language Program?

The Dual Language Program is a unique educational approach where students learn in two languages—English and a partner language (such as Spanish). At Aurelian Springs Institute of Global Learning,  students receive instruction in both languages throughout the school day, allowing them to become bilingual, biliterate, and culturally aware.

How it works:

  • Students are taught core subjects (like math, science, and social studies) in both English and the partner language.

  • The balance of languages may vary by grade level—for example, younger students often receive more instruction in the partner language to build a strong foundation.

  • Instruction is carefully designed so that students learn academic content while also developing language skills.

Benefits of Dual Language:

  • Students become fluent in reading, writing, and speaking in two languages.

  • Research shows bilingual students often perform as well as or better than their peers in academic subjects.

  • Learning two languages helps students develop stronger problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

  • Students gain a deeper appreciation for different cultures and perspectives.

Our goal is to prepare students with the skills they need to succeed in a global society, while celebrating the value of language and cultural diversity.
